Methodology, Assumptions, and Limitations
Methodology: this calculator annualizes hourly wages using hourly pay, hours per week, weeks worked per year, overtime assumptions, and optional benefits. It is meant to help compare compensation structures on the same baseline.
Assumptions: conversions assume schedules are reasonably stable. Real earnings differ if hours fluctuate, overtime is inconsistent, paid time off changes, or bonus structures matter.
Limitations: this tool is educational and comparative. It does not determine labor-law classification, overtime eligibility, or exact payroll withholding.
Worked Example
A worker at $30/hour for 40 hours per week across 50 weeks earns a materially different annualized number than someone working 52 weeks or logging regular overtime. That is why comparing hourly offers without schedule assumptions can be misleading.
